In October 2024, I was fortunate to take part in my first The Other Art Fair in Truman Brewery!
It was an unforgettable ride — challenging at times, but so worth it. I left feeling incredibly happy and inspired. Thanks to the organisers for making me feel welcome and ensuring everything ran smoothly, and a big thank you to everyone who came by — whether you stopped for a chat, bought my work, or brought coffee and encouragement (you know who you are!).
3 things I learned from my first time at The Other Art Fair
1. Clear your schedule. Prepare for long days — early mornings to late nights, with setup and fair hours. Don’t miss the Artists’ coffee and drinks, but make sure you take time to recharge after the fair. One day of rest that I planned wasn’t enough for me!
2. Invite friends and family at different times. Opening night can get intense, with so much happening all at once. I was so grateful for friends who stopped by but were able to spend more quality time with them when it was quieter.
3. Comfort is key. Look the part, but make sure you’re comfy. Wear shoes you can stand in all day, bring something to sit on, and keep snacks on hand to refuel.
I can't wait to be back!
