Tears in the Rain

"And all those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain..."

— Blade Runner

World mythologies reference a divine flood that wipes out worlds before resurrection again and again. When the waters are flooding one seeks higher ground and gains new perspectives.

Like a divine deity, filmmaker turns on the rain to precipitate growth, refreshment, purification and sometimes disaster. Falling water embraces and holds the victims, blurring boundaries between the hero and their surroundings.

This series of paintings explores themes of loss, acceptance, awakening and rebirth; it captures the characters when they stop running, surrender and wake up.

Giclée limited edition prints are coming soon
