Beauties & the Beast: Fay Wray
Giclée print, hand finished with 23K gold leaf; 70x50cm
King Kong is a captivating story about the giant beast and men behaving like monsters. It was told and retold multiple times elevating it to the mythological status. Through this series of paintings the artist is exploring the evolution of the role of women in the life and death of King Kong.
Women, that initially were objectified and mistreated, managed to humanise the beast and soften the hearts of men — finally moving beyond the original 'script'.
